The Women's Lacrosse League (WLL) is the first professional women's field lacrosse league in the United States. Founded November 13, 2024 by the Premier Lacrosse League (Paul Rabil), the WLL operates as a sister league under the PLL umbrella โ sharing broadcast partners, touring venues, and operational infrastructure. How is the WLL different from traditional women's lacrosse?
The WLL uses two formats: a 10v10 regular season (9 field players + goalkeeper) on a full-size field with a 52-second shot clock and 12-minute quarters, and a 6v6 Sixes format for the Championship Series (5 field players + goalkeeper) on a smaller 39ร76-yard field with a 30-second shot clock and 8-minute quarters. New York Charging drop to 2-1 after the loss โ Madison Doucette had 12 saves (coming off a league-record 17 saves in W4), but the offense was held to just 9 goals against a suffocating Palms defense. The New York Charging dropped to 2-1 with their first loss. The Charm are at 1-2 and the Guard are 0-4 โ both teams have two games left to salvage their seasons. All-Star MVP: Marie McCool (Charging) for her game-winning twizzler with 45 seconds left in a 16-15 Team Izzy win over Team Humphrey.
Inaugural WLL Championship Series (Sixes format). NY Charging won the title behind Izzy Scane (6G in final) and Madison Doucette (16 saves). Charlotte North won the Golden Stick with 22 points across the tournament.
